Well, it is finally spring break! I am sure I am more excited than the students that it is spring break (especially considering I am a lowly sub and hate my job). Later in the week, we are headed to Las Vegas for a much-needed vacation! We are road-tripping it and plan on making a few stops on the way there and the way back to the Grand Canyon, Carlsbad Caverns, the Hoover Dam, and anything else that strikes our fancy. I actually probably should be getting ready for the trip instead of blogging right now... Anyway, we will be sure and take lots of pictures and post them when we get back.
I also went and registered for lots of baby crap (I mean, goodies) this morning. The toughest part for me was that there were so many choices and I have no idea what I'm going to need! Instead of feeling excited, I was overwhelmed, frustrated, and running on only a few hours of sleep. I'm sure that I forgot several extremely important things on the registry, but I have not figured out what they are yet. I just have no idea. I was tempted to walk around randomly scanning things throughout the store, but I didn't. Luckily, my sister Emily kept me in check (sort of). I suppose that once the baby is born, I will discover very quickly what I need that I haven't thought of and have Andrew make lots of trips to the store for me! Oh, well.

About the Recital
Okay, so I figured that since we have links to my songs from my recital, I'd explain it a little bit. My senior recital was on April 11(?), 2008. It was the culmination of my music training in college. I can't believe it's been almost a year already! Anyway, basically all the work you do in college with voice lessons, etc. works toward this recital. All in all, I was pleased with how it turned out.
That was pretty much the end of my "formal" vocal training, because after that, I focused on the education side to get my butt out of school! Hopefully someday I will pick up voice lessons again because it's something I really enjoy and I don't want to let my voice go! But that will have to wait for awhile, because we have lots of other things going on right now.
